Gemstones and astrology go hand in hand.In astrology gemstones are used as an  important remedial tool to arrest adverse planetary influence on human beings.To know more on the subject i would like to share a writeup by my dear friend rupali patil who deals with remedial measures in astrology and in particular gemstones .

Who does not know about Gems and Precious stones? We have been seeing our forefathers wearing them all the time. Not to forget our kings who were fond of wearing rubies, emeralds, diamonds and pearls.

I always wonder what is the mystery behind these gems? Are they only the jewels and have ornamental value or does it signify something more? My curious mind always kept noticing whenever I see someone wearing a gemstone ring.
And one fine day my father got me a Topaz ring (yellow sapphire) on my 16th birthday…it was almost a carat in size! I was thrilled and asked him why did he choose a topaz over a ruby or an emerald? And that was when I realised that gemstones have their unique characteristics and hence one needs to be very careful in selecting a gem as it can give either excellent results or it can show unfavourable results too, or could be just neutral. One should consult an astrologer who would prescribe an appropriate gem for you after analysing your birth chart.

Now I started watching the effects of Topaz on me. Curiosity in me was growing day by day.  I finally realised that an astrologer friend of my father had prescribed it to enhance my learning skills. As the weeks and months passed, my topaz started showing its influence on me and on my life.  I started reading as much material on this occult science to understand the significance of gems beyond its ornamental value.
A deeper study into the subject gave insight on how the different gemstones can influence different aspects of an individual’s life.

Remember, it is not like one generic medicine pill that works for all for the same problem. Each gemstone behaves differently with different individuals in different stages of one’s life.
